Under clear skies and a very pleasant 24 degrees the race was the 10th of a 12 race card.

And the winner was the Chilean colt Teao ridden by Luis Torres.  He's by Ya Primo out of a Seeking the Dia mare and in his previous outing won the Chilean Derby.  His father had also won the same double,

The sole Uruguyan representative ran second, 3 lengths behind the winner, much to the surprise of many and the third home was the Argentinian The Gladiator's Hat who just nosed out the Brazilian Olympic Oman.

The large crowd were entertained between races by various dancers, singers and a very smart looking brass band who marched off to the Triumphal March from Aidia.  We think out Chilean colleagues will be singing it all the way back to Chile."
