RACE 1

LONESOME STAR (4) gave a great sight last time, leading into the lane and boxing on well for a close second over 1000m at Toowoomba. Has a low gate and keeps the handy 3kg claim. Improving and she sets the standard for the newcomers. DISCO DIAMOND (3) debuts from an inside alley and owns a trial win at Toowoomba. Profiles well and is sure to be fancied. A bold run is likely in a winnable race. PIXIE LANE (6) debuts and has been well educated. Won the first of three trials and has the advantage of the inside gate. Has the inside barrier and the blinkers on, signalling intent. SPINIFEX DJON'S (7) debuts and has trialled well at the Gold Coast. Also deserves consideration.

SUGGESTED PLAY: Lonesome Star with the race fitness/experience.

RACE 2

JUNGLE LAW (4) was outgraded at Eagle Farm but bounced back, leading and winning a CL5 at the Gold Coast. Draws low today and has a handy 1.5kg claim. She can go on with the job. IKASARA (2) resumes and has switched from the Waterhouse-Bott Melbourne yard. Has likely had issues but has raced well at Group level and Ben Thompson's engagement suggests he's pleasing. Runs along and the betting will tell plenty. HEARTS ARE BETTER (1) resumed in tougher at Doomben and will be better for it. Has pieces of form that stack right up and the 2kg claim benefits. Has been kept on the fresh side, and the betting will be key with her as well. Ditto BEAUTY RISING (5), who switched from an Adelaide yard, but found Doomben a stretch too far first-up. She's capable of using the inside gate and has the blinkers applied for the first time. Proven second up and is good enough.

SUGGESTED PLAY: Sticking with Jungle Law.

RACE 3

TROIKA (7) resumed this track/trip at this level and looked a run short. He has more up the sleeve and he's won twice second-up. Has been kept on the fresh side and maps to give every chance. SLIPPIN' JIMMY (4) has had two runs back in city grade and should be ready to show more like his best. Switches back 300m and Ben Thompson is a key jockey engagement replacing the 3kg apprentice. Some trust required, but he's in good hands and is likely to go close. LUBRICATION (1) has raced at Group and Listed level his last three and is much better placed in this company. Comes back to 1100m off a freshen and the 2kg claim off sets some of the extra weight. Has to be kept onside. MASTER SHOWMAN (2) tries hard and loves racing here. The 2kg claim is handy, and he can get into the finish.

SUGGESTED PLAY: Troika appeals most.

RACE 4

RUSTY TYCOON (6) finished 3.5 lengths adrift in sixth last time at Doomben over 1640m. Had been within range the three prior, also in stronger Maidens. Has the blinkers applied for the first time and Ben Thompson is a key jockey engagement. MONAKEED (3) is a leader and a likely threat. Was nudged out at Eagle Farm and here following ($2.4F) and tackles this distance for the first time. Has a handy 2kg claim, and she will take some pegging back. DUAL MASTERY (2) is knocking on the door following his narrow defeat over 1720m at Grafton. This is a bit tougher but will position forward and he can get into the finish. EVADE THE GAME (12) was much better over 1600m at the Sunshine Coast last time and will get a soft run from the inside barrier. In the mix.

SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Rusty Tycoon.

RACE 5

ACAPULCO GIRL (5) resumes for the sharp Vandyke stable and Ben Thomson's engagement suggests she's on song. Has two trials under the saddle and she flies fresh. The promising mare is building a tidy record, and she can add to that today. LE CHOCOLAT (2) is also in good hands and can build on his first-up win here in a CL1. Had switched from the Waller yard and jumped a $2.70 favourite. Strips fitter and can keep improving. DAITANNA (7) won here comfortably 36 days ago and is heading in the right direction. Has to push forward from an awkward barrier, but she also has claims. BRAVE HORATIUS (9) faced the starter for the second time and spiked his form winning a Toowoomba Maiden. Maps for a soft run and won't have to improve much to get some of the money.

SUGGESTED PLAY: Acapulco Girl to win.

RACE 6

FASVARA (6) recorded a gutsy maiden victory last time out over 1200m at Gold Coast. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Jumps from a nice gate and can take the next step. YEAH COPY (9) went well at the Gold Coast and then won a 55 at Gatton over 1400m and a short quote. Has placed this course/distance and hitting peak fitness he's capable of going back-to-back. HE'SGOTTHESAY (4) resumes in easier and has to be kept very safe. May find it a touch short but has plenty of talent and has trialled well at the Gold Coast. The betting will be key. LUDIK (7) is third-up with more to give. Has been settling back but will be running into it.

SUGGESTED PLAY: Sticking with Fasvara.

RACE 7

SHE MOVES TOO (3) showed more like her best second-up, beaten 2L at Hawkesbury. Has been switched north by the Waller barn on a 29-day return and is well placed. Won at Benalla over 1406m at her only third-up outing. Ben Thompson's booking adds to the confidence. RATENOTICE (6) was an easy Maiden winner here and then came back and missed a nose this trip in a CL1. Maps well and is a decent chance to bounce. HEY CHARDONNAY (14) can go a lot better today. Flopped on a heavy track at the Sunshine Coast but was only beaten 1.3L there prior over 1400m in a 58. Peaks and has to be kept safe. THE ROOKIE (4) races forward and won a CL1 at Grafton, improving again. Tackles a longer sprint for the first time, and racing forward can be in the finish.

SUGGESTED PLAY: She Moves Too to win.

RACE 8

CANARA (12) doesn't win out of turn but ran a strong race last time out over 1640m at Doomben, beaten 2 lengths. That rates well for this and has the blinkers on again and Ben Thompson in the saddle. Maps well enough and deserves another chance. OUR JEWEL (14) won a trial and went close over 150m here first-up. Loses Thompson but draws low and the step up in trip suits. A live chance with the extra fitness. KEEP IT LOKI (17) also came back to racing improved when beaten 1.2L over 1400m at the Gold Coast in stronger. Has an awkward gate but fitter has claims. ARDUOUS (11) also finds easier off a 1.8L defeat this trip at the Sunshine Coast. Has a handy 2kg claim and can make the finish with average luck in running.

SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Canara.
