Seven meetings across the country and here are the specials from Racing and Sports.
DUNQUIN (6) raced on the speed but was just found wanting in the closing stages when third last start over 1400m at Scone. Pops back into an easier maiden today and reverting to 1200m is a positive. Ready to break through at start four.
THE STARS ALIGN (5) chipped away late in his two runs back and should be ready to hit the frame in this average contest. Winning rider hops back on from the good gate. Is ready to put it all together now.
JOIN THE QUE (2) ran a most encouraging race first up at Ballarat, drawing wide and getting home well for third with improvement to come. He'll strip fitter for that in this very suitable affair, and the slight rise in trip should suit better as well, go close.
HONEY MAKER (5) was quickly back on track, making late ground over 1400m at Pakenham, beaten only 1.3 lengths. Comes back plenty in grade and rates to go one better.
MR HILTON (1) just ran into one better in town at the latest effort and should find this assignment a touch easier. Drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley and is sure to be right there when the whips are cracking.
TRUE PLAYER (5) was seeking the hat-trick and kept coming to just miss as the favourite last start over 2200m at Ascot. He's in the top metro stable and Fiore stays aboard. Draws to enjoy a soft run and will be tough to beat.
EL PASO CITIE (3) is progressing nicely and wasn't too far away last time when second over 1211m at Mt Gambier. At his top now and looks the one to beat.
