Nine meetings across the country and here are the specials from Racing and Sports.
It's hard to knock the form of ROYAL COMMODORE (1) who has two wins and a second from three outings this campaign and is racing high on confidence of late. Gets some well-needed weight relief with the 2kg claim and looks the one they all have to run down.
VEINS WITHIN ROCK (4) broke his maiden last start over 1600m at Launceston, scoring by 9 lengths. Was heavily bet off a narrow defeat prior. Jett Stanley retains the ride, and he can go right on with the job.
CHOC CHIP (7) settled midfield then closed with purpose but found the winner too good on debut last start over 1000m at Albury. Beautifully placed out to this trip. Doesn't have a great deal of legitimate opposition here so it is a great chance to break the ice.
LOVE TO LIE (11) did well last time to finish fourth over 1100m at Clare after she gave away a big start. The extra journey should play into her hands. Can get the job done on the quick turnaround.
CHAPPOLICIOUS (7) lightly raced filly with the upside to win this first-up. Shed her Maiden tag two-back, then went out hard early before tiring in the straight to run fifth over 1200m at Narromine last December. Returns with the slick 900m trial win.
VILLE DE LUMIERE (9) resumed in good order at Horsham and then raced as the favourite again at Terang over 1250m and was beaten a nose. It was a tough effort from a wide gate and she jumps from an inside alley today with Coffey a key jockey engagement. In a top barn, and she can go one better.
This looks a set play from the Shane Jackson yard with recent stable addition FOUJITA SAN (6). He's been good in two runs back, albeit having every hope last time at Caulfield when well backed and beaten a neck. He can strip fitter third up, gets in well with Bates on from a nice draw and suspect he'll peak for this with the local Warrnambool Cup also on the cards.
NISTIRITH (6) got the job done over 1100m last time out at this track in a strong maiden victory. She's shown plenty of talent throughout her career thus far and now gets out to 1200m for the first time. Too good as an odds-on pop last time out and she can go on with the job now.
