Eight meetings across the country and here are the specials from Racing and Sports.
POETIC ANGEL (9) resumes. Just failed to pick up on debut with a respectable third over 1005m at Ballina on November 14. Back with the two searching trials and expected to go close over this trip.
WAGGA: RACE 3
PURE MELODY (5) scored an overdue maiden win last time out, finishing full of running and justifying the short quote. Handy draw will assist and can go right on with the job now.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 5
FIFTY CALIBRE (1) got the job done over this course and distance last time out and winning hoop Guthmann-Chester sticks in the stirrups. Maps ideally for this from gate six and should make his presence felt again.
GRAFTON: RACE 5
WAYBURN (3) resumes after proving no match for Grafterburners over 1200m at Doomben last December. Back with the two trials and has the ability to overcome the sticky gate. Go close.
SALE: RACE 6
KILLIANA (2) looks very well placed here first up. She showed very good ability last time in, winning dominantly on debut and measuring up well to some good company in three subsequent runs. The win over Salty Pearl two back reads exceptionally for this and if she's forward enough she should be too good
BREAK THE TABOO (8) resumed here in good order and then disappointed as favourite at Warrnambool. Should be handy in the run and faces an easier assignment with extra fitness. Won her only third-up outing and is ready to find the winners' list.
THUNDERANLIGHTNING (8) is third up and made good improvement over this trip and Terang just 7-days ago. Comes back in grade, and Crowther will jump him from a low barrier. Fitter again and well placed to be winning.
GERALDTON: RACE 7
TRUE PLAYER (3) looks the one to beat after securing the Albany Cup last start when running on from midfield as the odds-on pop elect. Wider draw this time, but trust Fiore to get the first part of the race right and he can bring up back-to-back victories.
