Five meetings across the country and here are the specials from Racing and Sports.
KEMBLA GRANGE: RACE 7
ROSA INCANTA (5) resumes. Came to the end of her prep with a battling eighth at Newcastle in the G3 Spring Stk over 1600m last November. Primed for this with the two searching trials and will take running down from the inside draw.
CAULFIELD HEATH: RACE 3
MORNING WHISPER (8) and FREE FLYING (2) clashed in the Merson Cooper Stakes when last seen before a spell. Morning Whisper was on debut there as a $5.50 chance and finished a head behind Free Flying who was having her fourth start. It's worth noting Morning Whisper was much shorter in the market there too, with natural improvement and some good jumpouts she looks the one to beat. Free Flying draws the pole for Melham and also has strong claims.
IPSWICH: RACE 1
The babies kick us off. HELL OR HEAVEN (3) was well in the market at Doomben on debut but just missed the frame on that occasion. Will have derived a stack of benefit from that race day experience and where there's smoke there's fire. Sure to be right there at the business end.
STRATHALBYN: RACE 6
KIKKULI (2) races forward and just missed this track/trip two back. Was expected to win over 1800m at Clare following but dropped away after racing with his head up in the early and middle stages. Better suited back to the mile and he's won this course/distance.
ASCOT: RACE 5
FREE TO FLY (8) is racing well this campaign without winning, sitting handy and finishing 1.8L off the winner as the race favourite. Steps out to 1500m for the first time and she has enough early speed to offset the tricky barrier. At her peak now and can get the job done.
