Will Brown has questioned whether Chevrolet's struggles in the Supercars championship are due to a genuine parity issue or simply a lack of competitive depth across its teams.

The debate follows a parity trigger at Taupo, which prompted Supercars officials to review performance data across manufacturers. The system, designed to ensure a level playing field, analyses in-race lap times over a rolling six-race period.

So far this season, Ford has dominated, winning seven of nine races. Brodie Kostecki has claimed four victories, while Broc Feeney has secured three.

In contrast, Chevrolet has managed just one win through Anton De Pasquale, while Toyota celebrated its first-ever Supercars victory at Taupo via Ryan Wood.

Ford's advantage extends beyond race wins, with 22 podiums compared to four for Toyota and just one for Chevrolet.

Both Toyota and Chevrolet triggered the parity review system in Taupo, though Supercars has already confirmed no changes are required for Toyota following its assessment.

Chevrolet's case remains under investigation. However, Brown suggested the disparity may be influenced more by team composition than technical imbalance.

He pointed to the shift of Triple Eight Race Engineering to Ford, which removed one of Chevrolet's strongest outfits from its ranks.

Brown also noted that several Chevrolet-aligned teams are fielding inexperienced line-ups.

He explained that squads such as Erebus Motorsport, Matt Stone Racing and PremiAir Racing have relied heavily on rookies, which has likely affected results.

Speaking on the Lucky Dogs podcast, Brown argued that awarding Chevrolet a performance boost based solely on current results would be misguided.

He indicated that driver experience and team execution must be considered alongside raw performance data when assessing parity.
