Racing & Sports' selections from a rare Monday card at Ipswich.
RACE 1 - Tricky race to kick off the card with many of these babies facing the starter for the first time. Of the raced brigade I'LLTELLYOUANYTIME (9) resumes here but showed enough in her first preparation to warrant serious consideration in a race like this. Has the most race experience in this field and a strong showing while fresh would not surprise. Connections had such a high opinion of WARREGO RIVER (14) that they debuted her in a $500,000 race where she didn't measure up. Tuned up for this with a recent trial and must respect the reliable Gollan/Jones combination. FAIR SHAKE (3) didn't feature in a Listed race on debut but will find this assignment much easier. In the mix. PROFITEUR'S FIL (5) has shown ability at the trials and any market support must be noted. CONCERNED (2) is a recent trial winner who should be kept safe.

RACE 2 - ICONIFY (1) resumes here having his first run for the new stable but has revved up for this with two recent trials and trust that Gollan has him up to the mark. Rates a leading contender against this line-up. Former Victorian ARCELIA (5) went down by the narrowest of margins when having her first local run and hoop Sutherland sticks in the irons. Gets the benefit of his 1.5kg claim and looms as the main danger. SPOILT ROTTEN (7) has placed two of three around this circuit and will be rock-hard fit for this. Include in calculations. ZOUSLAYER (8) put in a career-best performance last time out and may have turned the corner now. Can play a role from the low draw. LISTING CAPITAL (3) best of the rest.
SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 1,5,7,8.
RACE 3 - The well-related SWING STATE (4) (half to G2 winner In Good Order) has hit the top-four at his past four starts and looks to be knocking on the door of a maiden victory. Ready to peak now third-up from the break and must be respected out of the Freedman camp. Goes on top. SECRET FENKEL (2) has gotten better with each run including a close-up second in town when resuming. Strips fitter and is perfectly placed to break through. VAN GHOST (1) just ran into one better at the Sunny Coast on debut and will have derived a stack of benefit from that day at the races. Right in this contest. SHOW'EM WHO'S KING (6) was well in the market on debut and where there's smoke there's fire. One for the multiples. LIGHTS WILL GUIDE (8) rounds out the selections.
SUGGESTED PLAY: Swing State to shed the maiden tag.
RACE 4 - EMPIRE OF ART (1) has been right there in all three outings this preparation and looks to be working up to another victory. Hails from the champion Chris Waller yard and appears to be very well placed against this line-up. Rates the testing material. CERTIFY (4) finally broke the maiden status last time out and will have taken a stack of confidence from that win. Can go back-to-back. SICILIAN WARRIOR (6) got a well-deserved win here at the latest effort and the step-up in trip should suit. Top-three aspirations. USE YOUR ILLUSION (3) will be ready to peak now fourth run back and looks one for the exotics players. BRAIN WAVE (7) next in line.
SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Empire Of Art.
RACE 5 - TRUMP CARD (4) was a touch disappointing in town last time out but the form prior was good enough for a race of this calibre. Has only missed a drum once in six spins around this circuit and should be right there when the whips are cracking. SACRED BULL (7) got the job done over this track and trip last time out and winning rider Thompson sticks in the irons. Capable of back-to-back victories. CHILLAXING (2) is improving with racing this time in work and must be respected out of the Gollan barn. Top-three credentials. HEAVENLY LOVE (8) has placed over this course and distance and maps ideally for this from gate two. In the mix. YUKANUMA (1) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be underestimated.
SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 4,7,2,8.
RACE 6 - ZOUSTROLOGY (12) got an overdue maiden victory out of the way over this course and distance last time out and will have taken some confidence from that win. Again gets the services of Thompson in the stirrups and is capable of going right on with the job now. NO NAME FRANK (2) resumes here but boasts a win over this course and distance and has won two of three when fresh. Found the right race to kick off the campaign. LUMENS LENNY (4) gets some weight off with the claim and should be able to sit up on speed. Will give backers a sight. MERCIAN (8) is a consistent conveyance who rarely puts in a poor one. Has to be included. GEEGEE JET BY (1) has put back-to-back wins together in lesser grade but shouldn't be discounted lightly.
SUGGESTED PLAY: Zoustrology to win again.
RACE 7 - Looks a wide open affair. ACAPULCO GIRL (5) loves it here around the Ipswich circuit only missing a quinella spot once in five attempts. Grows a leg for hoop Maloney who has two wins and a placing from four steers and a return to form is on the cards. GOLDEN CROSS (15) has been plying his trade in harder Saturday metro grade and will appreciate the drop back in company here. Looms as the main danger. RUBYDOO (17) has placed three of four over this distance range and gets in well at the weights with the claim. In the mix. MR BUBBALUSKI (10) will be rock-hard fit for this and should get a cosy run in transit from gate three. Top-three prospects. SIR MAURICE (12) next in line despite the sticky draw.
SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 5,15,17,10.
RACE 8 - YEAH COPY (4) goes well for rider Boche who is yet to miss a place in four rides and has been racing very consistently of late. Has placed four from four over this course and distance and should get a soft run from the favourable draw. Plenty to like about his prospects. READY TO IGNITE (3) is a bit hit or miss but will strip fitter second-up from the break and is more than capable enough on his day. Watch for sharp improvement. BOLD CHANGE (18) has hit the top-five at his past seven outings and rarely puts in a poor one. Top-three candidate. BOLD AS BRASS (8) has placed three of four around this circuit and may earn some minor money again. MOET AT MIDNIGHT (20) next in line.
SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning towards Yeah Copy.
