Collingwood are set to regain Scott Pendlebury for next week's clash with Geelong, as the club manages a growing injury list following a bruising 93-all draw with Hawthorn.

Ruckman Darcy Cameron battled through an ankle issue late in Thursday night's game, while Harry Perryman suffered a hamstring injury that forced him off in the second quarter and places his availability for next Saturday in doubt.

Steele Sidebottom also finished the match despite a painful hand problem, later identified as a burst blood vessel.

Further concerns emerged around Nick Daicos and Jamie Elliott, who both required treatment during the match.

Coach Craig McRae indicated post-game that the pair were likely managing soreness rather than serious injuries, noting the physical toll of consecutive high-intensity performances.

The scheduling provides some relief, with a nine-day break before facing Geelong. McRae suggested the extended turnaround would allow the group to recover after a demanding stretch, particularly for players carrying minor knocks.

He also acknowledged the extent of Sidebottom's hand swelling and praised Perryman's willingness to play through discomfort, while confirming the latter would undergo scans to determine the severity of his injury.

Collingwood are expected to bolster their line-up with the return of Pendlebury and Jeremy Howe, both of whom were rested, along with Beau McCreery, who missed the Hawthorn game due to general soreness.

Pendlebury's return carries added significance. If selected, he will equal the all-time VFL-AFL games record of 432, held by Brent Harvey.

The club is reportedly considering managing his schedule to break the record the following week at the MCG against West Coast.

The approach has sparked debate, with commentator Kane Cornes suggesting Pendlebury could have played in the draw given Collingwood's position on the ladder. However, the plan may yet prove effective if the veteran returns refreshed at a time of need.
