Karachi Kings have signed Jason Roy as a replacement for Muhammad Waseem ahead of the crucial stages of the Pakistan Super League 2026 season.

The move comes after Waseem, along with Khuzaima bin Tanveer, was called up to represent the United Arab Emirates in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 matches in Nepal.

In a statement, the franchise highlighted Roy's aggressive batting style and extensive T20 experience, noting that he has been one of the most destructive overseas players in PSL history. His addition is expected to strengthen the Kings' top order as the tournament enters a decisive phase.

Roy is a familiar face in the PSL, having featured in six editions since 2016 for Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators. He holds the record for the highest individual score in the league - an unbeaten 145 off 63 balls against Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi in 2023. Across his PSL career, he has scored 1,260 runs at a strike rate of 146.51, including two centuries and eight half-centuries.

Karachi Kings head into this phase of the tournament under pressure, having lost their last two matches after opening the campaign with three consecutive wins. Notably, they are yet to register a victory since matches shifted to Karachi.

The team's opening combination has struggled for consistency. Waseem managed just 86 runs in five matches, while David Warner has scored 93 runs in four innings, with more than half of those coming in a single knock. Reeza Hendricks, who partnered Waseem in the most recent game, added only two runs.

Currently sitting fourth on the points table, Karachi Kings will look to turn their form around when they face Islamabad United on April 16.
