The Stewards' Cup is a Group 1 race run under Weight For Age conditions for the milers at Sha Tin conducted by Hong Kong Jockey Club.

The Stewards' Cup is run over 1600m. It was first run in 1954 over 1200m at Happy Valley.

It is the first leg of the Hong Kong Triple Crown leading into the Gold Cup and then the Champions & Chater Cup.

It became a mile race in 1991 and was granted HKG1 status. In 2015 it became an international G1.

In the last 25 years, John Size has seven wins in the race as a trainer while Tony Cruz has four victories.

Over the same sort of time frame, leading jockeys are James McDonald, Zac Purton, Douglas Whyte, Robbie Fradd, Basil Marcus and Joao Moreira with three apiece.

Golden Sixty made it 15 wins from 16 starts when he won in 2021. He was going for the record consecutive wins in 2022 but was beaten as a 20-1 on shot.

Then in 2023 we saw the three big guns of HK racing, who all competed on HKIR back in December, take on each other with Golden Sixty getting the win.

Voyage Bubble was going for three on the trot in 2026 but ran into the best around as Romantic Warrior won another G1.

The Stewards' Cup was worth HK$13m in 2026.

The 2025 Stewards' Cup was won by Romantic Warrior from Lucky Sweynesse and Voyage Bubble.
