Beginning his career in 2010, Sam Clipperton was apprenticed to former champion jockey Ron Quinton at Randwick.
Crowned champion New South Wales apprentice in 2012/13 and 2013/14 with 61 and 81 winners respectively, Sam Clipperton claimed his first Group 1 success for his former master on Peeping in the 2016 Coolmore Classic.
Later in the year, Clipperton tasted Group 1 success once again on the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained English in the All Aged Stakes.
In 2016 Clipperton took up a license to ride in Hong Kong, his first feature win coming on board Booming Delight in the 2017 Lion Rock Trophy.
