Midweek racing from Sandown Lakeside & Warwick Farm and we've got a horse to follow from each meeting.

Sandown Lakeside Race 4 - Bel Mezyaan

Coming back from 1500m to 1200m off a let up was clearly a big negative for the progressive Bel Mezyaan who just didn't have the speed in his legs to hold a spot early in an apprentice only race where they went very slowly early. He got into a terrible position last on the inside, running the best last 400m of the race but just having too much to do. Out to 1400m next time can see him improve lengths.

Warwick Farm Race 7 - Golden Straand

Big win first up from this Matthew Smith trained entire, sitting wide throughout and getting quite keen in the run but still ranging up easily under Nash Rawiller to put his rivals away softly on the line. He did some good things last time in running a slick time figure at Warwick Farm in October and this win suggests he's come back even better.
