Two-time major winner Bryson DeChambeau has reaffirmed his commitment to LIV Golf, despite growing uncertainty around the breakaway tour's long-term future.

Reports last week suggested Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, LIV's primary financial backer, could withdraw its support, raising fresh doubts about the league's viability beyond this season. LIV officials have publicly played down those concerns, maintaining operations will continue as planned.

However, senior figures within European golf have indicated to BBC Sport that they do not expect the competition to continue past the end of the year.

DeChambeau, 32, remains one of LIV's most high-profile players and is reportedly seeking a new deal worth around $500m when his current contract expires. He indicated discussions are ongoing and expressed confidence that an agreement could still be reached.

He said his focus is on helping stabilise the league, adding that he feels a sense of responsibility after investing significant time and effort into the project.

DeChambeau acknowledged the challenges facing LIV, describing it as a start-up that is likely to encounter financial and structural pressure, but insisted he sees long-term value in the franchise model the league is built on.

LIV Golf has been a disruptive force since its launch in 2022, attracting leading players away from the PGA Tour with lucrative contracts and reshaping the professional game. Its future now appears uncertain, but DeChambeau's stance signals at least some of its top talent remain committed to the project.
