With a strong equestrian background Greg Eurell competed at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Taking out his license in 1987, the Cranbourne based trainer always has a good horse in his stable and really rose to prominence with the baldy faced sprinter Apache Cat.
It was Apache Cat that gave Eurell his first Group 1 success when taking out the 2006 Australian Guineas, the first of seven majors for the popular horse.
In 2011, Eurell had his biggest win when Pinker Pinker took out the Group 1 Cox Plate.
