For many years Gai Waterhouse was at the side of her genius father Tommy (TJ) Smith during his amazing run of 33 straight Sydney Trainers Premierships (34 in total).
After much pain, she was eventually granted her own licence in 1992 and has not looked back since.
Her own Group 1 tally is equally as significant. So many of them have come at her much loved Randwick but the Golden Slipper is a personal triumph as she sits equal with TJ at six.
From the 2016/17 season she united with Adrian Bott at Tulloch Lodge.
From that time the fillies and mares have given them the great successes via the likes of Global Glamour, Pinot, English and Prompt Response.
